Imagine John Mayer, Coldplay and
Green Day all wrapped up in one package! That is the essence of the music
of The Squares. John Frischer, front man and songwriter, is a force to be reckoned with and he is one of the
fine artists recording on the 12 Bar Records label. You can learn more
about John .. and hear some of his incredible music .. by going here.

Drew
Mantia on MySpace
With
'Save Yourself" Drew hopes to bring to the world his soulful and funky take
on rock and pop and a lyrical style that is known to be clever and catchy. Drew
first captured this sound in a demo recorded throughout the winter of 2006 and
spring of 2007. This demo, which included now fan-favorite "Drama (Bring it
Down)," was a slow process. The demo never reached completion, but what
tracks did come from the sessions were enough to attract some attention and a
record deal with St. Louis based label 12 Bar Records.

BluesGrass on MySpace
Folk’n
BluesGrass started in February 2005 on a whim. Brian was playing his regular gig
every Saturday night at the Broadway Oyster Bar when Steve came down to sit in
on mandolin, which he’d only been playing for less than a year. Steve invited
Travis, with whom he’d been playing with in another band. There...Folk’n
BluesGrass was created. They went to Davenport, IA to play a gig at Mojo’s at
the River Music Experience and Café Paradiso in Fairfield, IA. The rest, as
they say, is history.
STL
Sound Magazine
One of the best things to ever
happen to the St. Louis music scene was when three local ladies decided it was
time that someone created a magazine that lawded ALL genres of music that are
being performed in the Metro area. STL Sound was born in the very early
days of 2006 and has fast become THE GO TO monthly to read about music,
musicians, venues, record labels, recording studios, and just about anything
else you would want to know about the St. Louis music scene.
Here's their mission
statement:
To
promote live music inspired by the people, culture and history of St. Louis and
to continue this spirit in the next generation by providing the example of a
city dedicated to the preservation of its music scene.
