March 29, 2010 - 12 Bar Productions Voted the #1
Recording Studio in St. Louis
KTVI Channel 2, the St.
Louis Fox affiliate, announced
today that 12 Bar Productions, LLC and its 12 Bar Sound Studios was chosen by
St. Louis voters as the Best Recording Studio in St. Louis.
To qualify as a contestant, businesses had to be
nominated by their clients or other business owners. Once the business was
accepted, viewers were encouraged to vote for the businesses they felt were the
"best". According to officials at KTVI, 12 Bar received 79% of the votes
for recording and rehearsal studios - an enormous margin by any standard.
"We've been working really hard, for the past several
years, to give our clients what they want and at a price they can afford", said
Travis King, Chief Engineer for 12 Bar.
"By offering all-inclusive project pricing, we take the
guesswork out of what it's going to cost to do a project and that has really
influenced a lot of artists to record with us", stated Larry Cowsert, Executive
Producer of 12 Bar. Cowsert continued: "We're going on our eighth year and
we've been chosen over some great studios that have been here for over 30 years.
That's a wonderful compliment, but it's also a real responsibility.
Now we must continue to deliver recordings in a timely manner, at a fair price
point, and at a quality that compares with Major label International releases.
I believe we're up to the task!"
12 Bar is located in Maryland Heights, MO, one block
from Westport Plaza, and is the only studio in town that is accessible for
physically challenged musicians.

In Mid-January, KTVI Television (Fox 2) began a program called the HOT LIST,
which sets out to identify and congratulate the "hottest" of local
businesses in St. Louis. 12 Bar was asked to participate as one of the
hottest recording studios in St. Louis. To earn a Top Listing on the
HOT LIST, the business must receive a number of votes from viewers of Fox 2
and from visitors to the Fox 2 HOT LIST website.

Happy New Year!
12 Bar Productions, LLC is very proud .. and extremely pleased .. to announce
that we are GROWING! We have expanded our facilities by acquiring
2,600 square feet adjacent to our existing recording studio. This
brings the 12 Bar facilities up to just over 4,000 square feet of music
creation heaven!
Twelve hundred square feet of the new addition will house our executive
offices, including conference room and private offices, a teaching suite, a
studio "B" (for development of digital music tracks), a large
reception/lounge, and a kitchen and restroom.
Plans call for the remaining 1,400 s.f. to be used for the construction of a
purpose-built mixing and mastering studio, which will include two 150 s.f.
ISO rooms, and 400 s.f. of storage.

What a month this has been! We are overwhelmed with the confidence that
has been shown in us by so many bands. In the last few weeks, we have
recorded album and EP projects for:

We also did some smaller projects for some great
Singer/Songwriters. There's still some editing, mixing and mastering to do
on some of them, but we just ran out of 2009!

12 Bar Productions, LLC is pleased to announce that Andrew
Whitten's full-length CD project has been completed and the CDs are already
being distributed to the public.
The album is a beautiful package of Contemporary
Country/Christian tunes that are charming, at times, and heart-felt always.
If you like Country or Contemporary Christian .... and
especially if you like both ..... you have GOT to have this album.

On November 28th, 12 Bar Records released the anxiously awated Drew Mantia
album "Save Yourself".
The Album, which contains 10 original songs from Drew, began selling months
before the album was to be released when fans began to purchase pre-release
cards at Drew's live shows.
The CD release party was held at Highway 61 Roadhouse in Webster, Missouri
and was a standing room only event, with dozens of CDs moving off the
merchandise table.
The album is now available on numerous digital retailer's sites. You
can find them all HERE.

.jpg) The Gloaming have announced the release of their new album, DIEI, on the
12 Bar Records label. The album dropped on June 26th at their CD release
party at 2 Cents Plain in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. The Gloaming gave
one of thier finest performances and rocked the house, selling out of t-shirts
and moving dozens of their CDs.
The album was made available immediately on iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic,
AmazonMP3.com, Napster and several other digital retailers. The album will
also be available in Vintage Vinyl in St. Louis, as well as independent record
stores around the country, as they begin to tour.
The band is scheduled to leave for a brief tour of the Midwest, anchored
by shows sponsored by the USO at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and Whiteman
Air Force Base in western Missouri. There are plans for a Winter 2009 tour
of Okinawa, Japan.

Tracking and mixing are completed on The Gloaming's 12 Bar Records release
"DIEI".
The Gloaming's DIEI is being mastered and will be sent out for manufacturing
the last week of June, just in time for their CD release party at 2 Cents Plain
on July 19, 2008.
The 10 song album harkens back to the power rock bands of the 70s and 80s,
with songs that sound like the anthem rock tunes that you sang along with at
your favorite stadium rock concert.
In support of their album, the band is playing a combination USO and
civilian tour, beginning with their show at Whiteman Air Force Base near Kansas
City, and culminating with live stadium shows in Okinawa, Japan in early 2009.
The singles from the album - Warboots and Release Me - will begin spinning on
radio stations in early fall and the album will be for sale on the Glaoming's
website, as well as all digital retail services.

L.A. Record Producer Skip Saylor chooses 12 Bar
as his Midwest studio for a new band development project.

We were knocked out this month when we got a call from Skip Saylor,
asking to use our studio for a project he is working on with an Illinois
band. He had researched several St. Louis studios and felt that we
had the passion and facilities that would be the perfect working environment for
his project.
Skip has been a long-time fixture of the L.A. music scene, owning a group of
high-end recording studios and serving as an engineer and producer. Skip
was involved with such projects as k.d.lang's "Constant Cravings",
Guns 'n' Roses "Use Your Illusion I & II", Eminem's "Slim
Shady" and many others. He has worked with an enormous list of Gold
and Platinum artists during his career, including Tom Petty, Paula Abdul, Ice T,
Ice Cube, P Diddy, blues guitar phenomenon Jonny Lang, Eddie Money, Bon Jovi,
Aretha Franklin, Death Cab for Cutie, the Foo Fighers, and dozens of others.
Skip and the Cruzen Brothers will be working in our studio for several
sessions into 2008!

On October 21, Mike
Rowe - Star of the Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs" was in the studio to record
voice-overs for three of his upcoming shows, as well as promos for "American
Chopper" and "Ultimate Fighter". Mike was accompanied by his Producer,
Dave; and the session was engineered by 12 Bar's Chief Engineer - Travis King.
"We were blown away when we got the call
from Pilgrim Film and Television asking if they could use our studio." said
Larry Cowsert, Executive Producer at 12 Bar. "We were even more
excited when we learned that the guys had such a good time at 12 Bar that
Pilgrim has tagged 12 Bar as their "go-to" studio for the
Midwest", continued Cowsert

We are very pleased to announce that we have
signed "The Gloaming" to the 12 Bar Records label.
These guys have such an amazing sound and we
can't wait to get their album tracked and mixed. The power of their music
and the depth of their lyrical content is going to create a new standard in
power rock!

Drew Mantia
12 Bar Records is pleased to
announce that we have signed Drew Mantia to a three year/three album recording
contract.
Drew has a great pop sound that fits right into Contemporary Hit
Radio and we are excited about getting him onboard. His first single
"Drama" is destined to be a radio hit and we can't wait to get him out
to a national audience.

12 Bar has spent the months of June and July to upgrade and
upgrade, we did!!
We are now a full-blown ProTools HD|3, 96 Channel setup. We're running our
software on a Quad Core MacPro with 6 Gig or RAM and 2TB of storage.
We also have plug-ins and other new gear that will rock your world.
Come in and check it all out. You'll be a 12 Bar fan the minute you hear
your music recorded at our place.

Well, we got hit with a major tragedy this month.
AmerenUE was working on a transformer behind the studio and a lineman dropped a
neutral line, sending 220 volts into the studio. Most of our gear got
fried! The good news is that we took the opportunity to migrate the
platform to ProTools HD. By the end of July, we will be offering 96 tracks
of ProTools HD.

Javier Mendoza
We are pleased to announce that Javier Mendoza, one of the most talented and
energetic entertainers in the country, has engaged 12 Bar Productions as his
management company.
"Javier is a world-class talent", said Jerry Frischer, head of Artist
& Repertoire at 12 Bar Productions. "Entrusting his career to us
is a real honor and we will make every effort to help him achieve his goals and
objectives", Frischer continued.
Javier has just completed his 7th full-length album, entitled "Javier
Mendoza", with such
incredible cuts as "Julianne". If you've not caught a Javier Mendoza show,
you need to get to one. You will be stunned at the power and emotion in
each of his songs.
