Travis King

Chief Recording/Mix Engineer

Travis got his formal music education at Webster University, where he received his degree in Audio Engineering.  He then served Internships at Smith-Lee, a successful local recording studio, and two radio stations.  His stint inside radio gives him a particular perspective on how music is "managed" in radio ... and especially what they look for when it comes through the door.

Travis is one of the finest bass players in the region, working an upright bass like a rented mule in The Folk'n'BluesGrass Band.  His favored styles of music to record are acoustic instruments, Acoustic Blues, Jazz, Country and Americana, but he's done it all. He also has a special talent with outboard effects.

Travis has worked on projects for Javier Mendoza, The Gloaming, Chris Aytes, Drew Mantia, Relation, Frank's Creation/Inner City Blues Band, and others .... as well as engineering several sessions here at 12 Bar for multi-platinum LA Engineer and Producer Skip Saylor.

Recording/Mix Engineer

Chad's a solid rock guitar guy, so his special talents lie in engineering and mixing Heavy Metal, Hip-Hop, and R&B tunes with a driving beat.  Chad has worked closely on projects for Ben Levin, Brad Fox, Marquis Knox, Frank's Creation, Stir Crazy, John Frischer and the Squares, Drew Mantia, Relation, and many others.

Jerry Frischer - Co-Owner

Native St. Louisans know of a fantastic "Grateful Dead" tribute band called "Jake's Leg".  Jerry was the bassist for Jake's Leg for several years.  Jerry still plays in a band and is a great bass player and guitarist.

Jerry has a long history within the St. Louis music scene and especially the St. Louis Blues Society, having been instrumental in the development and growth of the "Big Muddy Blues Festival", which was rated as one of the 10 biggest blues festivals in the country while he was on the Board.

Jerry knows talent when he sees/hears it.  He also understands the music business and what it takes to make it in such a fickle, hard-to-break-in industry.
